Based on my collaboration with Baukje during the implementation of the Diaspora volunteer project : maximizing the value of the Kenyan diaspora. A joint project between Kenya Diaspoar Community in the Netherlands, Africa Study Centre Leiden University and VSO Netherlands, I would attest to her qualities and professionalism in handling very complex projects that involve multiple actors across different operational levels and countries
Baukje is an interesting, reliable and valuable person to work with. She is very reflective in apporach to issues, a team player that listens to various perpsectives, creates space for others, and focus on realizing results together with colleagues. She is very focused on the core business of the organisation and project at hand, a quality that ensures that all inputs are aligned to the goals of the project. She deploys a wide range of skills based on years of experience in Africa and the Netherlands. Baukje can handle group dynamics very effectively, by thinking out of the box in order to bringing on board key players to realise their potentials, while undertaking her functions in the most professional way.
